Eligibility (Age & Qualification)

Age

Flying Branch & NCC Special Entry: 20-24 years (20-26 with current CPL).
Ground Duty (Tech & Non-Tech): 20-26 years.

Qualification

Flying Branch: 10+2 with 50% in Maths & Physics + Graduation with min 60% OR BE/BTech with min 60% OR AMIE/Equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical): 50% in Physics & Maths (10+2) + 4-yr engineering degree or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation (3 yrs) with min 60% OR BE/BTech with min 60%.

Exam Pattern & Marking

Total test duration: 2 hours (excluding technical section timing: 45 min for technical section if applicable). Each correct answer carries 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

SSB Interview - What to Expect

SSB is a 5-day assessment that evaluates personality, intelligence, teamwork & leadership. Below is a compact checklist to prepare:

  • Practice PPDT and picture-based storytelling.
  • Sharpen written tests: TAT, WAT, SRT.
  • Participate in group tasks; lead when appropriate but collaborate always.
  • Revise current affairs and have clear, honest answers for PI.
  • Attend medical & document verification (6-10 days post SSB).
